U is for Unipol

Words are the lens through which we interpret the past, understand the present, and imagine the future.

The words that make up our DNA stem from a journey that began in 2022: the Generationship initiative. 
After a profound change in the Group, with the entry of over 3,000 new colleagues and several new Companies, this initiative created an opportunity for dialogue between the Chairman, Carlo Cimbri, and around a hundred colleagues under 40. 
A shared vision emerged, which took shape in 2024 in the ten-episode internal podcastU is for Unipol’. 
The podcast allowed us to share this experience with all our colleagues and make the story common heritage. 
The ten key words discussed in the episodes identify the behaviours that define what it means to be Unipol: “Our DNA”. Ten words to understand what it means to belong to the Unipol Group and the conduct that guides our strategic choices.

Our DNA

Vision

The ability to predict changes and, if possible, to anticipate them. This is what has allowed Unipol to evolve into the great Group it is today.

Leadership

An attitude that is cultivated both within and in relation to others, which is recognised by those around us. Leadership is more than responsibility; it is also the ability to listen and compare in order to fully understand how roles and conduct fit into the bigger picture.

Belonging

True belonging is achieved when people do not simply feel part of a company, but rather part of a project, a larger plan that aspires to endure over time and create value for new generations.

Courage

Those who have courage embrace uncertainty, make difficult decisions and take action, accepting that failure may be part of the journey. It is not the absence of fear, but the strength to face it.

Pride

Pride is measured in the desire to leave a significant mark for those who share our path. It is what drives us to continuously grow and improve.

Dedication

A way of doing things which means completely focusing on each goal, however big or small, with care and commitment.

Responsibility

Being there when people need it and facing every challenge by putting the common good before individual wants. Also, a concrete commitment to the community.

Ambition

Ambition is a dynamic condition that invites us to pursue goals in the healthiest way, uniting our personal aspirations with those of the organisation for which we work.

Determination

As in sports, it is the strength that makes you go the extra mile to overcome difficulties and win. It is what makes things happen.

Passion

Doing things with passion means devoting your whole self to achieving the goals you have set. Finding passion and instilling it in people is paramount to building a future for any community.
