Bologna Jazz Festival 2025

The twentieth edition of the Bologna Jazz Festival 2025 will be taking place from 9 October to 16 November, involving the city of Bologna and the provinces of Ferrara and Forlì. The program includes over 80 concerts, alongside collateral events such as workshops, conferences, screenings, concert-lessons, and artistic residencies.

The festival offers a broad and contemporary vision of jazz, combining music, visual arts, and education.

The Unipol Group, as event Partner, will be hosting two soirées at the Unipol Auditorium:

• On 28 October, with the Mary Halvorson Amaryllis Sextet. In the field of new, improvised music, Mary Halvorson has gone from being an increasingly talked-about artist to a true icon of unconventional music in the space of fifteen years or so. She is a five-time winner of the DownBeat critics’ poll for best guitarist.
   
• On 13 November, with Monty Alexander, one of the very few pianists capable of transforming each musical performance into a captivating event. His virtuoso performances have placed him in a select circle of pianists capable of doing anything with the keyboard. In his timbre and especially in his rhythmic leaps, there is something truly peculiar that sets him apart: his Caribbean roots that emerge unmistakably, lending an irrepressible liveliness and colourful tones to his music.
