The autumn exhibition showcasing the artistic heritage of CUBO, the Unipol Group Corporate Museum, is dedicated to Filippo de Pisis, a leading Italian exponent of 20th Century art. The refined artist and writer, whose painting incorporates elements of symbolism and metaphysics, will be featured in: “Filippo de Pisis. Birth of a Painting” (Bologna, 18 October 2024 - 18 January 2025).

The exhibition created in collaboration with the Filippo de Pisis Association - the archive and research centre dedicated to the life and work of the master - is curated by Ilaria Bignotti and Maddalena Tibertelli de Pisis. The project explores some entirely original aspects of the artistic research and cultural significance of de Pisis, juxtaposing around fifteen paintings with literary, poetic and critical passages selected from his writings.

The exhibition revolves around a painting which belongs to the artistic heritage of the Unipol Group Corporate Museum, entitled "Landscape" (1926): a small oil painting on canvas in which man meditates on his dimension in relation to the grandeur of nature.
Starting from this work, the curators chose around fifteen other paintings from the archive dedicated to the master and from renowned national collections, placing them in dialogue with a selection of his writings.
